Member of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council
Bunker Projects

The Bunker Projects Gallery and Residency space was reclaimed from fire and abandon in 2012 by three founding artists and dozens of community members. We are rooted in DIY culture – always asking ourselves ‘what can we do to enhance the arts experience for artist and community alike?’ and then quickly acting to see it through.

We open our doors each First Friday with a new show of ambitious works by emerging artists from the Pittsburgh region and those from all over the world. Our artists in residence live in one of our third floor apartments, work in their private studio, and take full advantage of the resources provided by the community of arts organizations and community.

Since 2013 We Have…

  • Worked with over 200 individual artists
  • Hosted over 30 residents who engage in a rigorous self-directed practice for average of 3-4 months
  • Presented 47 First-Friday exhibitions at our space
  • Facilitated dozens of artist talks and workshops
  • Produced 22 special events including
  • International Performance Art Festivals
  • Erotica Night
  • Talking With Your Mouth Full
  • Experimental Music Shows
