Join us for a lecture and Q&A discussion with CUNY Professor Noël Carroll as part of our Outside the Academy Lecture Series, followed by a meet and mingle.
Professor Noël Carroll will use Sex and the City episode “A Vogue Idea” to discuss the theme of consumerism in the series and the moral problems that it raises, especially in terms of the way in which it encourages viewers to shrug them off.
This program is part of a two-part double header evening of lectures by academics presenting their work outside of an academic setting. Stay after the discussion for a meet and mingle with Prof. Carroll between programs. Light refreshments will be served. Guests are also invited to attended Andrea Brady’s discussion on poetry in the age of the drone at 7:45. RSVP for Andrea Brady’s program here. Registration is required.
