PGH Handmade Hearts

PGH Handmade Hearts

at Contemporary Craft

We are excited to host PGH Hand-Made Heart on Saturday, February 2, 1 – 3 PM. Join us to make a handmade heart and tagging it with a positive message that can be placed in public to share compassion throughout Pittsburgh.

On October 27, 2018, worshipers at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA, were attacked in a senseless act of hatred. In response, local artist Barb Grossman and her family started “PGH Hand-Made Hearts” to make and place handmade hearts in public places as vivid reminders of the power of kindness. The mission of this project is to foster compassion for those impacted by acts of violence and hatred, as well as to discourage future acts of this nature. Let’s #ShareAHeartPgh, with #PghHandMadeHearts.

We will be supplying a variety of materials with instructions. You will be making a heart, tagging hearts with positive messages, and taking a few with you to put in places such as: libraries, lobbies, churches, mosques, synagogues, community centers, senior centers, auditoriums, at a bus stop, at the park, playground, on a hiking trail, and other places that your can think of. This event is free and open to the public.
