A presentation by Vicky Clark on the Carnegie International
What did Andrew Carnegie want for the International and do his ideas still influence the show?
How does location, in an art museum in Pittsburgh, affect the show?
How does the International relate to the museum’s permanent collection?
Is the International still relevant?
Join critic and curator Vicky A Clark, PhD, for a look at the 2018 Carnegie International with these questions in mind. Clark was involved in the internationals between 1982 and 1995 while working at the Carnegie; produced International Encounters, the history of the exhibition; and has written about various iterations and historical influences.
Tickets are $15, or $5 for students.
