Gary Jurysta  -  Artist Statement

My interests in painting have evolved through many technical and stylistic

changes and in the process a useful understanding has gradually informed my

work. The essence of authentic “painting” I believe, resides in pure inventive

abstraction. These pieces demonstrate a consistent interest in a technique

that explores and utilizes the fluid application of paint to achieve a dynamic

visual result. This type of painting for me epitomizes the meaning of the term

“freedom of expression.” In the new work, I am attempting to locate that

optimum moment of visual energy that exists in the process somewhere

between impulse and resolution.

Paige Tibbe -  Bio

Paige Tibbe graduated from Seton Hill University with a BFA in the spring of 2017. Paige generally works in oil paints, graphite and charcoal. She is focused on depicting the figure and delving into modern portraiture; all the while exploring what it means to be human. Paige uses painting as a way to ask questions of self, human interaction, and personal ideologies. She now resides in Pittsburgh and exhibits at galleries throughout the greater Pittsburgh area.
