28th Annual Pittsburgh Irish Festival - Live Art Demonstrations

For the first time, the Pittsburgh Irish Festival will feature live art demonstrations by local Celtic inspired artist, Conor Coleman. The Pittsburgh Irish Festival is September 7-8-9, 2018 at the Riverplex at Sandcastle.

We are thrilled to have partnered with local artist, Conor Coleman, to bring live art to the Festival for the first time.

Conor is a self-taught artist who works in all visual media, but specializes in murals and traditional ink practice. The complexity of his work resembles ancient, tribal Celtic artwork, and at this year’s Festival he’ll be crafting live-artwork in this same fashion! His pieces will be available for purchase throughout the weekend and his live art can be bid on for a lucky home.

As a compulsive doodler, Conor has found both personal sanctuary and a platform to engage communities in art. Professionally, his practice began is using art as a tool for collective introspection in after-school programming with at-risk youth in North Philadelphia. After early experiments and successes, he was selected to continue his work as a Fulbright scholar in India where he made several murals with and in different communities. Some of you may recognize him from years past: Conor got his start as a world-class Irish dance competitor and professional, placing fifth in the World Championships and dancing with Lord of the Dance, among other companies. He’s no newcomer to the Pittsburgh Irish Festival and has performed multiple times with the Burke-Conroy School of Irish Dance, Gaelic Storm, and others! Be sure to stop by his live art demonstrations this year.

Only regular adult admission tickets and Weekend Passes are available for purchase in advance because other discounted tickets (seniors, students, etc.) require ID at the time of purchase.

Advance Tickets for $12 will be on sale now to Sept. 4th. Available for purchase here. There are no service charges for ordering tickets in advance. Only regular adult admission and Weekend Passes are available in advance.

Parking at the Pittsburgh Irish Festival is $7 per car.
