After doing stand up comedy for years, Leno became host of NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 1992, when Johnny Carson retired, dominating the late night TV ratings for over two decades. He hosted his last episode of The Tonight Show in 2014, the same year he was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame.
