**************
Some quick background on this reading series: each year for our Festival, we receive hundreds of new plays that eventually get narrowed down to the 18 that are produced as LabWorks or Main Stage productions after rounds of critique, scoring, and board review.

The production companies select these plays from a pool of ~40 finalists. We thought it was only right for those plays that were deemed worthy of production but were just not selected by a company this year to get their chance to be performed by some fantastic local actors. This also gives the playwrights an opportunity to hear their work performed for an audience and gather some feedback.

Plus, there's wine and snacks.
