AWCommunity Days Holiday Market

AWCommunity Days Holiday Market

Presented by August Wilson Center at August Wilson Center

AWCommunity Holiday Edition takes place Saturday, December 9, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. The celebration culminates with a ticketed performance by New York-based poet/playwright Nathan James who returns home with his one-man show Growing Pains at 8 p.m.

“We have created the AWCommunity Days to showcase all the spaces of the August Wilson Center and to engage a diverse audience with artful, culturally rich activities and experiences for families and audiences of all ages,” says AWC President and CEO Janis Burley Wilson. “The Holiday Edition is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season; to find unique, handmade gifts for loved ones; and to gather as a community in the spirit of the arts.”

Curated by art historian and cultural producer Kilolo Luckett, the growing list of vendors include: The Art of Natiq, Alison Babusci, Djoi Designs, Edge Life and Braddock Youth Artists, Edo Scribes & Pleasantries, FlowerHouse, Idia’Dega, Charlotte Ka and Mobutu Reynolds, Mary Hakim Martin, Harriette Meriwether, Ruth Richardson, Sharrell Rushin, Miles Saal, Jill Thompson, and the Warped Weaver. In addition, a series of performances will include Reed Dance, African American Music Institute Boys Choir and Barrels of Beethoven.
