We’re celebrating the season by recognizing our favorite fibers that keep us warm: WOOL!
Join us in The Art Studio to see how wool is made into yarn. You can enjoy wool spinning demonstrations on a 200 year old wheel, try your hand at combing, carding, or felting, and feel a variety of wools from different animals. Then head over to MAKESHOP to see how we use fibers to make clothes and accessories that keep us warm. We'll be exploring finger knitting, weaving, and more!
The BMDL Fiber Guild is a part of the Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands, a local group of the Society for Creative Anachronism, an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating skills of pre-seventeenth century Europe. The group is enthusiastic about all aspects of fiber arts in the Middle Ages, from spinning and felting to weaving and embroidery! Com discover how these Artisans transform wool into fibers that make clothes and other items in the Middle Ages! Please contact us at FiberGuild@debatablelands.org for further information.
