Imagine you were told to give up your seat for someone else! This compelling story of Rosa Parks, an upstanding citizen of the community, takes you inside the events that sparked the civil rights movement.

Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott is appropriate for audiences in 3rd grade through high school, families, and adults.

The mission of Prime Stage is to bring great literature to life through the transformative process of live theatre – to entertain, inform, enrich and inspire audiences with engaging programs that deliver long-lasting benefits to the students, educators, youth, families and theatregoers of our region.

Parking Info

On-street parking is available at no cost after 6pm, Monday-Saturday and all day Sunday. Paid parking is available in the Allegheny Health Network garage for evening events and weekend matinees.

To find the garage:

Drive past the theater and follow Allegheny Square East as if you were going back out onto East Commons
The Allegheny Health Network garage will be on your left
Pull in and a uniformed parking attendant will collect your fee
Parking in the garage is $7 (cash only)
NOTE: The lot will close one hour after the show
For various events, security is on site to direct you to available parking options. Parking for sporting events impact space available near the Theater. Please check your local listings to see if the Theater’s event conflicts with our local sports teams.

Prime Stage Theatre is committed to providing an environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all patrons.

With our sensory-inclusive performance the last Saturday of each production at 2:30, we provide a social story with pre-theater preparatory activities for the person with a sensory, social, or learning disability so the person begins to understand and anticipate what might happen at a performing arts experience.

The last Sunday of each performance we offer Audio Description for the blind and visually impaired, along with signed interpreted and real time live caption for patrons who are deaf or have hearing loss.

The theatre facility provides hearing devices for all performances and is wheelchair accessible.
