From I to Eye: Weaving Research Into Personal Narrative Writing

From I to Eye: Weaving Research Into Personal Narrative Writing

Presented by CRAFT TALKS at Online/Virtual Space

Have you wanted to take your essays beyond the personal? Perhaps integrate a researched or reported element into your personal narrative writing or break into a new media publication? Even write a hybrid memoir?

Whether you have an idea for weaving research into a finished essay, are passionate about a subject you’d like to write about creatively, or want an introduction to the possibilities of personal journalism, this webinar will provide options for approaching your piece. We’ll start by looking at the various ways research and other points of view can add perspective and meaning to a piece and then discuss best practices for a variety of research approaches, with options for even the most novice researcher. We will end by looking at a sample pitch.
In this webinar you will:

IDENTIFY essay structure on the spectrum of the personal to the universal
LEARN about best practices for research approaches from novice to advanced
CONSIDER structure options for hybrid essays
ANALYZE a successful pitch and learn pitching options for your own researched essays

This webinar is for…
