Master Artist Ernie Hawkins with Apprentice Raymond Morin, received a 2021-22 Apprenticeship in Folk and Traditional Arts from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

Based primarily on the early twentieth-century east coast Piedmont and Texas steel-string fingerpicking styles, Ernie’s virtuosic performances, and workshops have captivated audiences worldwide. Ernie learned his craft from such masters as Rev. Gary Davis, Mance Lipscomb, Son House, and Fred McDowell.
