StillPoint Guided Visualization with Alyssa Jurewicz-Johns
Engaging all of your senses, we build images in the mind that your body feels as real external events versus more traditional guided meditation that is focused purely on the mental state without the addition of whole-body senses.
This guided imagery has many uses:
~Promotes relaxation, which can lower blood pressure and reduce other problems related to stress
~Help you reach goals (such as losing weight or quitting smoking)
~Manage pain and promote healing
~Prepare or process a life event
We will be utilizing breath, sound vibrations (pure acoustic & live soundscape), guided visualization and restorative shapes, we lead your body-mind into activating the parasympathetic nervous system (PSNS). When the PSNS is activated, it slows our heart and breathing rates, lowers blood pressure and promotes digestion leading our body into a state of deep relaxation, and this relaxation breeds recovery. When we slow down the tempo and invite in Lunar energies, we will go within to the depths of your cellular level frequencies and invite in the soft awareness of subtle energies that often go unacknowledged. The StillPoint is suitable for every body and experience level. This is a ‘floor-based’ practice, meaning, your body will relax on the earth, supported by blankets, bolsters and any other softness we can bring to the mat, throughout the practice.
