Harambee Ujima Black Arts Festival

Presented by Harambee Ujima Black Arts and Culture Association at Harambee Ujima Black Arts Festival

It is our honor to invite you to join us as the Harambee Ujima Black Arts and Culture Association celebrates the 55th Annual Harambee Ujima Black Arts Festival which will take place Friday, August 12-Sunday, August 14 at the intersection of Homewood Avenue and Kelly Streets from 10am-8pm everyday in Homewood. This event is hosted by the Harambee Ujima Black Arts and Culture Association and is free to the public.

The Harambee Ujima Black Arts Festival is a significant community-sponsored art, and cultural event organized annually by the Harambee Ujima Black Arts and Culture Association. The Festival first organized in 1967 by the Homewood organization Together Inc addressed social and economic issues, created community togetherness, and promoted the consciousness of Black pride. The Festival ignited a Black Arts Movement in Pittsburgh and has since built a cultural legacy. The Festival is the first of its kind to be held in Pittsburgh and was once the third-largest Black Arts Festival in the nation. The Harambee Ujima Black Arts and Cultural Association was formed in 2001 to preserve the festival's legacy.

The 2022 Harambee Ujima Black Arts Festival will include:
