Carnegie Museum of Art’s free outdoor summer event series returns with a summer of performances, live music, and local food and brew on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons!
Inside Out takes place from Saturday, June 4 through Saturday, August 13 in the museum’s Sculpture Court in an immersive pavilion by artist Rafael Domenech, commissioned for the 58th Carnegie International.
On Thursday nights from 5 to 9 p.m., Pittsburgh’s expansive nightlife scene takes over the Sculpture Court. A lineup of some of the city’s most dynamic DJs transforms the Sculpture Court into a can’t-miss happy hour destination for friends and dancing during the week. On Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m., everyone is invited to enjoy performances from regional arts organizations and performers, soak in summer sounds from bands and DJs, grab a bite from local food trucks, and get creative with artists and art-making.
Inside Out Night, a special 21+ party under the stars, will take place on Friday, July 15. STAYCEE PEARL dance project & Soy Sos will present CIRCLES: Going Off, a dance party version of their full-length choreographic performance. Layering movement, visual arts, MCs, DJs, electronics, and a live original score, CIRCLES: Going Off invites everyone to join the celebration! Registration is encouraged for Inside Out Night but not required. Registration will open on May 11.
This year, Pittsburgh’s Trace Brewing is the official brewery partner of Inside Out and is selling a curated selection of craft brews at each event. Additionally, each event will feature a different local food truck with bites available for purchase, including Alberta’s Pizza, El Rincon Oaxaqueño, Caribbean Vybz, Soul Biscuit, M&M Royal Touch, Streets on the Fly, Two and a Half Greeks, ATU, and Hermes.
Inside Out events are FREE and Thursday and Saturday events are open to audiences of all ages.
