Tony Havrilla, Pittsburgh oil painter, is pleased to announce an upcoming solo exhibition at UnSmoke Systems Artspace (1137 Braddock Avenue, Braddock) next month. The show, titled Notes From the River Nadir, features coinciding bodies of work produced between 2018 and 2022 capturing the artist’s unique aesthetic and experience with loss.
Notes from the River Nadir highlights Havrilla’s relationship to family, fable, and philosophy. The show spans introspective portraiture to meticulously crafted surrealist landscape. Through his oil painting, Havrilla creates windows into memories and shared illusory experiences. These works seek to steep the viewer in pools of color and lush brush strokes; leaving dregs for reflection.

Notes From the River Nadir will be on display for the month of June by appointment only (e-mail tonyhavrilla@gmail.com) with a closing reception and artist talk on Saturday, June 25 from 11 am - 2 pm. The artist talk is open to the public and free to attend.
