Join the WCDC and Casey Droege Cultural Productions this spring for an exhibit by Rell. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Rell’s youth was spent studying as a classically trained singer at both Rogers Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) and Pittsburgh CAPA. Rell’s work is a response to daily life and happenings in international pop culture. Rell uses paint and/or fiber as mediums to process, reflect, and respond to Black/African American identity, beauty standards, and representation of Black people in global mass media.
Works by Rell will be on view every Saturday, April 23 through June 11 from 12-5PM, at the WCDC’s Lohr Gallery (725 Wood St. Wilkinsburg). FREE and open to the public.
A virtual artist talk will take place on May 4 -- register at caseydroege.com/rellrushin.
