American Perspectives on Modernism

American Perspectives on Modernism includes works by Stuart Davis, Marsden Hartley, John Marin, Charles Sheeler, Max Weber and other American modernists responding to the artistic developments in Europe in the early 20th century. Their approach to depicting the rapidly changing times of America is as diverse as the media employed ranging from oil on canvas and pen & ink to watercolor, woodcut, lithography, etching, drypoint, and screen prints. Organized by the
Kalamazoo Institute of Art, Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Admission to the Hoyt Galleries is free. If you would like to add a tour of the Historic Period House to your visit, you can schedule a tour online or call 724.652.2882.
