Birding Expeditions with Bob

Head out to Lake Arthur just 40 miles north of Pittsburgh to look for more than 25 different species of migrating geese, swans, and ducks. Birdwatchers will travel separately and meet up with National Aviary Ornithologist Bob Mulvihill, will offer tips for identifying waterfowl for those who dabble in birdwatching, and those who want to dive in! Safety protocols including face masks and physical distancing will be observed.

Parking at the National Aviary is always available on a first-come first-serve basis.

Visitors may access the National Aviary entrance on Arch Street using the guided walkway through the Allegheny Commons Park. This accessible walkway starts at the National Aviary parking lot and runs parallel to the driveway.
