Children's Collaborative Storytelling

Children's Collaborative Storytelling

Presented by City of Asylum @ Alphabet City at Online/Virtual Space

Our very special guest storyteller and illustrator will help bring your child's story to life, as children will be asked questions that will involve them in the creation of the story. Musician Dave Berbabo will contribute to the sensory experience with live music and sound effects that accompany the story as it moves along in this fun and collaborative experience. Join our family as we find creative new ways to work and play together!

Joe Wos is a professional cartoonist. He does live illustration and storytelling and has toured nationwide as a performer, illustrating stores live as he tells them. He is the visiting resident cartoonist of the Charles M. Schulz Museum.

Parag Gohel is a talented actor and educator based in Pittsburgh, PA. He is the Director of Education at Quantum Theater. He was recently part of Quantum Theatre's  Love and Information, a broadcast performance by Caryl Churchill. He has fulfilled acting roles for many of Pittsburgh's theater organizations, including PICT and Bricolage Production Company, where he was part of the development of the premiere production of Welcome to Here, later titled, The Forest of Everywhere, an immersive theatrical experience for children with ASD. Parag will be acting as a storyteller for the project.

David Bernabo is a filmmaker, musician, dancer, visual artist, and writer, performing with the bands Watererer, Host Skull, Cowsboys, Gawdz and How Things Are Made; devising dances with his variable dance company, MODULES; and often collaborating with Maree ReMalia | merrygogo. He curates and produces work for the Ongoing Box imprint and co-curates the Lightlab Performance Series with slowdanger.

The Show Must Go On(line) is made possible thanks to generous support from the Benter Foundation, The Heinz Endowments, the Juliet Lea Hillman Simonds Foundation, the Opportunity Fund, The Pittsburgh Foundation, and an Anonymous Foundation.
