Seeking Truth

Seeking Truth

Presented by Brew House Association at Brew House Association Gallery

At a time when the American people are being inundated by a sense of uncertainty, artists may be uniquely skilled in demonstrating the profound outcomes that are possible when one willingly steps into the unknown. Breaking from past techniques, materials, and comfort zones, six artists rise to the challenge of creating artworks that reveal societal blind spots and shed light on shared human experiences in an ever-shifting landscape. Whether confronting the role of technology in our lives, exploring personal histories, or embracing remaining cultural comforts, artists featured in Seeking Truth look to interrupt our current understanding of what is real and what is true.

Seeking Truth is the capstone exhibition of Brew House Association’s tenth cohort in its’ Distillery Artist Residency. Established in 2006, Distillery is a yearlong studio residency designed to help emerging artists transition into a professional artistic career by supporting a rigorous studio practice and providing professional development and mentorship opportunities. The program focuses on inspiring participants to embrace new challenges in their work and builds a supportive community in which to create.

Exhibiting artists include Jamie Earnest, Brendon J Hawkins, Adam Linn, Njaimeh Njie, Centa Schumacher, & Kamara T. (Wavy Wednesday).
