Inspiring artists everywhere. Mildred Sidorow, 98 years young, will bring a retrospective of her work to Percolate Gallery in May.
Mildred Sidorow, 98 years young still creates and paints almost every day. Percolate is thrilled to bring a collection of work, dating back from the 1960’s until present for this very special exhibition and celebration of the artist. Mildred says, “I consider my artwork to be visual forms of poetry.”
Born in 1918, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, self taught artist Mildred Sidorow has been painting for over 65 years. Her early work began with watercolor, for which she has won numerous awards, including first prize and purchase at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York and has been purchased for both permanent and private collections. Mildred is perpetually experimenting with many forms of color, texture, and abstract design. Her paintings, now predominantly acrylic, manifest elements of cityscapes, figures, collage, and geometric forms. Her passion for painting originates from stimulating an emotional response from both the artist and viewer. “Various art forms were created by the first humans that inhabited earth. Painting is rooted from a silent language. Sometimes it whispers, and sometimes it screams”. Percolate is proud to give you, the viewer 98 REASONS to see her work!
