Workshop: Mental Health Post-Awards & Accolades

Workshop: Mental Health Post-Awards & Accolades

Presented by Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council at Online/Virtual Space

For many artists and arts administrators, the pressure of performing in the public eye can be overwhelming and contribute to feelings of anxiety, depression, and imposter syndrome.

In the art world, "stardom" and the trappings of fame and fortune can happen in the blink of an eye. Many creatives are mentally, physically, and spiritually unprepared for the task of being recognized for their work in the form of articles, grants, or job announcements. This inability to properly handle what may come with professional recognition can create real life problems such as money mismanagement, maladaptive coping skills, and health issues that can have long lasting effects. This workshop offers solutions and strategies that can assist in the process of ascending professionally.
