Join us for a one day workshop with Master Artist John Buxton. Students will have the opportunity to learn about Buxton's journey as an artist and observe a couple of his historical themed paintings. Emphasis will be placed upon composition and the arrangement of several objects or figures to create a pleasing narrative and design. Various principles such as the golden ratio and the rule of thirds will be learned. Students will experiment with xeroxed photo copies to arrange subject matter. Buxton will guide each artist to explore why certain compositions work while others do not. Then, students will learn how to best crop their sketches to complete their design. This workshop is conceptual in nature. All mediums are welcome.
