Storytelling with 123 Andrés

Latin Grammy Award-winner 123 Andrésare Andrés and Christina, a high-energy duo with catchy songs and a fun-filled show that gets kids and families singing and dancing, in Spanish and English.

123 Andrés performs their joy-filled concerts for students from early childhood through sixth grade, and family audiences. They have performed across the US and in Puerto Rico, Panama, Mexico and Colombia, at such venues as Wolf Trap (Vienna, VA), Symphony Space (NYC), and the Coliseo in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Andrés grew up in Bogotá, Colombia, and learned how to play the guitar from his father as a child. He studied clarinet at the Conservatory and had his first studio experience at age eight. He went on to earn a Doctorate in music and win first prize in the National Composition Contest in Colombia for one of his early songs.

Christina was raised in the US, in a Spanish-speaking family hailing from Colombia, and studied theater and dance as a child. After serving as a classroom teacher in public schools and earning a Masters in Education from Penn, she found her mission teaching through music.

De origen colombiano, Andrés y Christina son 123 Andrés, que hacen canciones que combinan ritmos alegres, bailes divertidos, con enseñanzas y mensajes positivos. Sus espectáculos son enérgicos y divertidos, y han puesto a bailar niños y familias en lugares como Nueva York, Washington, DC, Los Ángeles, Ciudad de México, Bogotá, San Juan de Puerto Rico, y Ciudad de Panamá, entre otros.

Andrés se inició en la música desde muy niño. Aprendió guitarra con su padre y grabando en el estudio con tan sólo 8 años. Continúo sus estudios musicales hasta obtener un doctorado en música.

Christina creció en EEUU hablando el inglés y el español, y descubrió un interés por el arte desde niña, en ensambles de ballet y danza folclórica y también como actriz. Luego de recibir un grado en Estudios Latinoamericanos y Lengua y Literatura del Español, recibe una maestría en educación y por algunos años enseña en aulas de primaria en los Estados Unidos.
