PechaKucha

Presented by City of Asylum @ Alphabet City at City of Asylum @ Alphabet City

PechaKucha Night, now in over 1,000 cities, was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public.

PechaKucha Nights are informal, fun gatherings held cities world-wide, where creative people share their ideas, works and thoughts in a 20×20 format; a presentation style with 20 images that advance automatically for 20 seconds each, as the presenter talks along with the images.

Doors open at 5 pm.  PechaKucha Presentations start at 7 pm.

Good PechaKucha presentations are the ones that uncover the unexpected — unexpected talent, unexpected ideas. Some PechaKuchas tell great stories about a project or a trip. Some are incredibly personal, some are incredibly funny, but all are very different, and they turn each PechaKucha Night into “a box of chocolates.”
