Opera Without Words

Presented by Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra at Upper St. Clair High School Theater

The Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra will present “Scenes of An Opera: Opera Without Words” for its final concert of the season. Soloists Deborah Silverstein, flute; James Cunningham, trumpet; Julia Simeone, violin; Ryellen Joaquim, viola and Christopher Corbett, clarinet will perform best-loved selections in both their original format and in new arrangements created especially for their instrument. The orchestra will also play the Overture to Ruslan and Ludmila, currently used in the title sequence of CBS’s “Mom”; the Light Cavalry Overture, Carmen Suite No. 2 and Orpheus in the Underworld featuring the popular “Can-Can”.
The Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra is under the direction of Dr. Warren Davidson.
