Corrine Jasmine is a writer, artist, and filmmaker currently living in Pittsburgh, Pa using her work as a central tool for healing, loving, and making sense of the world around her no matter how chaotic. Her work frequently touches on her “Trifecta” narrative: being Black, being a woman, and being queer.

She will be reading from her collection, Tread, a book of poems dedicated to “the human being finding their way.” Tread is a self-published collection of poetry that touches on mental health, childhood trauma, heartbreak, falling in love, and self-loathing.

It’s a deconstruction of self, following Jasmin’s journey as she blossomed into adulthood.

Stories That Heal is a series that highlights local authors who live with and/or have a loved one who lives with mental health conditions. Their stories of lived experience promote empathy, foster resilience, and uncover the truths about living with a mental health diagnosis.

During each event, an author will read an excerpt from their book and a moderated Q&A will follow.
