Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village, located in Avella, Washington County, Pa., will open for its 51st season on Saturday, May 4.
Discover archaeological wonders in the Meadowcroft Rockshelter, a National Historic Landmark used by some of North America’s earliest people. Then step inside a wigwam, use a prehistoric atlatl to throw a spear, and watch a blacksmith forge red-hot iron in three recreated villages that explore the daily lives of Americans through the centuries.
All activities are included with regular admission. Meadowcroft’s Opening Weekend hours are noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 5.
