The Dorian Wind Quintet is known worldwide as one of chamber music’s preeminent and longest continuously-active ensembles. This will be the Quintet's third performance in the David Johnson Memorial Chapel on the Thiel College campus.

Since its formation at Tanglewood in 1961, the Quintet has collaborated with numerous well-known artists, commissioned nearly 40 new works of wind chamber music, and held residencies at some of the world’s most prestigious music festivals and educational institutions.

Thiel College’s Con Spirito Chamber Music Concert Series, which began in fall 2007, presents concerts each year, featuring top chamber music performers from around the world.

The series was created in honor of the late daughter of Dr. Glen Johnson H'88, Thiel College Board of Trustees chairman emeritus, and his wife, LaVonne, generous friends of the college. The home of the Con Spirito Chamber Music Concert Series is the David Johnson Memorial Chapel, dedicated in 2006 and named in honor of the Johnsons' late son.
