VILAYA, The Confluence

Nandanik Dance Troupe, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, is coming back yet another year with an Indian Classical Dance Festival “VILAYA, The Confluence”, in Pittsburgh on April 18, 2020 at the historic Andrew Carnegie Library and Music Hall, Carnegie, PA.
This year, VILAYA showcases stories and dances from the North, South, West and East of India.
Nandanik Dance Troupe presents Ram,the musical,based on the epic Ramayan. It is premiering in Pittsburgh with a cast of eighty dancers, choreographed in Bharatanatyam, and Chhau styles by Nandini Mandal and Sanjib Bhattacharya.
Vasant Raas portrays the dance of Krishna with his beloved Radha and Gopis in unique Manipuri costumes from the north eastern state of Manipur.
Aparna Sindhoor and Anil Natyaveda of Navarasa Dance Theater, CA, will present Kalarippayattu, an ancient martial arts dance form of Kerala from Southern India.

The festival will be open to an audience of more than 400 encompassing all professions, ages, organizations, and economic strata. We invite you to be a part of this event.
