Paula Newbaker
Paula Newbaker is a “boomeranger” who returned from the world beyond, mostly the Washington, D.C., world. As a singer, she sang with several large symphonic choirs, and has traveled internationally. She also sang in the back up choir for the Kennedy Center Honors, as a part of a comedy team presenting the Funniest Celebrity in Washington annual contest where politicos and media types sowed their comedy chops, and has worked as a voice over artist.

As an arts administrator, she has done PR and marketing for the Smithsonian and several theaters and arts organizations in D.C., Pittsburgh, and California. The day job has been public relations. In addition to the Smithsonian, she worked for numerous nonprofits and government agencies, including the Center for American Progress, and organizations focusing on higher education, transportation, and senior citizen issues.
