Alia Musica's season closer features David Stock's beloved violin concerto The Philosopher's Stone, performed by the great Andrés Cárdenes (former PSO concert-master), as well as the premiere of Gorilla, by New York-based composer and saxophonist Erin Rogers.

The ensemble also performs Edgard Varèse's Octandre—the 1923 but thoroughly modern-sounding study on sound for wind octet—and Witold Lutoslawski's Chain No. 1—the only chamber-ensemble work by the Polish master. Completing the ... view more »
