Blurring the lines between visual art, music, and dance, Some Assembly Required will engage you in a process performance of improvisation and co-creation.
Some Assembly Required offers audiences a new way to view visual art, a new lens to experience dance and live music, and a new outlook on the culture of engaging arts experiences. October 2016—Miller Gallery at Carnegie Mellon University - Pittsburgh, PA
Some Assembly Required demonstrates Attack Theatre’s commitment to audience engagement, creative inquiry, and co-creation. This process/performance is a collision of the planned and the spontaneous and creates a new work inspired by works of art. In this performance the audience and artists travelled throughout Miller Gallery at Carnegie Mellon University, discussing three selected works of visual art. Through improvisation, the audiences’ comments and observations were transformed into original music and dance.
