ABOUT Transcendental Arrangements: 109th Annual AAP Exhibit

Associated Artists of Pittsburgh (AAP) is the oldest continuously-exhibiting visual artist membership organization in the country. This year marks AAP’s 109th annual exhibition with Transcendental Arrangements. The exhibition focuses on artistic practices that engage with ritual, magical, and supernatural qualities within everyday encounters, serendipitous connections, and ubiquitous symbols in our daily lives. For the first time, AAP’s annual exhibition includes a selection of artists invited by the juror from outside of the region, putting local artists in conversation with national and international artists and a broader global discourse.

Transcendental Arrangements is made possible with major support from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, The Fine Foundation, the College of Fine Arts, Regina and Marlin Miller, and individual donors of both Associated Artists and the Miller ICA.

ABOUT PGH Art Book Fair

We will feature a special preview selection from the upcoming Pittsburgh Art Book Fair (PABF) on view at the Miller ICA during the Transcendental Arrangements: 109th Annual AAP Exhibition [July 29–Sept. 3, 2023].

The inaugural Pittsburgh Art Book Fair is a free annual event to celebrate printed matter with local, national, and international exhibitors. PABF wants to provide a platform to connect the Pittsburgh community and welcome non-Pittsburgh artists through artist books, small presses, collective publishing, and the publication as artwork, activism, archive, and exhibition. Connect with PABF on Instagram: @pghartbookfair.
