About the Public Art and Communities Program

The Public Art and Communities Program supports artists and communities in working together. From 2021 - 2023, four artists worked in collaboration with community-based partners to develop and implement four works of temporary public art in Pittsburgh communities. These artworks addressed not only the immediate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but also brought community members together around issues such as racism, food insecurity, social isolation, and mental health.
