This is the first year that the Pittsburgh Collage Collective participated in the Postal Collage Project–an annual, international mail-art project founded in 2011 by Marty McCutcheon of Berkeley Commonplace. Project collages are developed by participants assembled in groups of 5, each working independently, sending and receiving works-in-progress in a predetermined pattern. Each participant is the Principal Author of one collage —the one they start and finish— and a Contributing Author for 4 others.
From July 15th to August 17th, the Shaler North Hills Library will display the 90 hand-cut collages created by the Pittsburgh Collage Collective members and other Pittsburgh-area artists who participated in the 2022-2023 Postal Collage Project.
