Music Theory II with Professor Pierce Cook
A more advanced level of Music Theory where students tackle more challenging musical concepts.
Prerequisite: Completed Music Theory I OR Score between 70% – 90% on the TRYPO Theory Pre-Test
In Music Theory II, we dig deeper. More clef work, more scales, more intervals, and their inversions, triads and 7th chords, and more exploration of the circle of fifths. Music Theory II continues the weekly skill drills – sight-singing, counting, and dictation. This is Music Theory I on Beast Mode! Ages 12-19 welcome.
Tuition: Fall 2022 Tuition Fees are as follows. We know finances might be even tighter than usual these past few years. TRYPO will never turn a student away due to limited financial resources. Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
Accordingly, on July 13, 2022 the TRYPO Board of Directors approved TRYPO Safety Protocols for the 2022-23 Season since Allegheny County’s COVID-19 status is now: Low based on COVID-19 Community Level. TRYPO office/student rehearsals/concerts are currently “Mask-Friendly,” as long as a “mask-friendly” policy is consistent with our host venue. What does Mask-Friendly mean? We respect each individual’s decision whether or not to wear a mask. While a distanced chair can be requested by students, parents, or a teaching artist, they are not required for any musician. If any student develops symptoms consistent with COVID-19, stay home and get a test. Notify TRYPO staff that you would like to try to attend via Zoom if you are feeling well enough (if Zoom is available for that session). Consistent with CDC guidelines, vaccination against COVID-19 is strongly encouraged. In the event that one of our rehearsal or performance venues requires more COVID-19 Safety Protocols than TRYPO currently does, TRYPO will default to the Safety Protocols specified by our host venues.
