“Mother Jones in Heaven”

Authored by acclaimed singer/songwriter and political activist Si Kahn, Mother Jones in Heaven is a one-woman theatre show relating the inspirational life of Irish-American labor organizer Mary “Mother” Jones (1837-1930), whose renown as a fearless fighter for workers’ rights earned her the label of “the most dangerous woman in America.”

Mother Jones in Heaven is presented by the Battle of Homestead Foundation (a diverse collective of citizens, workers, educators and historians using the arts to tell the story of Western Pennsylvania workers past, present and future) and Calliope House (preserving and promoting traditional and contemporary folk music and its allied arts throughout Western Pennsylvania with concerts, workshops, classes, grants and music sessions.)
