Making Your Parks Shine

The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is celebrating 25 years of improving, maintaining, and caring for Pittsburgh’s parks by creating a collection of immersive and inclusive lighting installations across the city. Known as “Making Your Parks Shine, presented by PNC and UPMC Health Plan” these six installations are a visual celebration of some of Pittsburgh’s most beloved park spaces.

The following locations will be lit for all to enjoy on October 1 and 2.

Walled Garden – Mellon Park
Patricia Rooney Memorial Fountain – Allegheny Commons
Schenley Plaza
August Wilson Park
McKinley Park
Frick Environmental Center

As part of the celebration, you can join the Parks Conservancy for a series of community block parties on the evenings of Friday, October 1, and Saturday, October 2.

The parties will include live music, local food vendors, and family-friendly activities from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. These events are free and open to the public, thanks to generous support from PNC and UPMC Health Plan.
