Join us for a reading with Cave Canem Poetry Prize-winner Julian Randall who will be reading from his collection Refuse. This program will also featuring a reading by Sherrika Mitchell of the Pittsburgh Poetry Collective.

The Cave Canem Poetry Prize is among the most prestigious in America.  Past winners include two poets who went on to become U.S. Poet Laureate.

2018 prize winner Julian Randall is the son of an African American father and a Dominican mother. His breakout poetry collection Refuse is a reflection on this dual identity, set against the backdrop of Obama’s America.
