From Slavery to Freedom Film Series: “Negroes with Guns: Rob Williams and Black Power”

Join the African American Program of the Heinz History Center for a screening of “Negroes with Guns: Rob Williams and Black Power” at the Carnegie Library – Homewood Branch on Feb. 20, as part of the 2019 From Slavery to Freedom Film Series.

The film “Negroes with Guns” is an electrifying look at a historically erased leader that provides a thought-provoking examination of Black radicalism and resistance and serves as a launching pad for the study of Black liberation philosophies. Insightful interviews with historian Clayborne Carson, biographer Timothy Tyson, Julian Bond, and a first-person account by Mabel Williams, Robert’s wife, bring the story to life.

Admission is free, and registration is not required.
