In these times of uncertainty, we turn to art for comfort and meaning. Unfortunately, local artists are some of the most affected individuals in this crisis. The Oaks Theater and Pittsburgh Concert Audio are proud to support the Greater Pittsburgh Council and its Emergency Fund for Artists, which is providing much needed financial assistance to impacted artists. Through a combination of live streaming and prerecorded segments, we’ll provide the entertainment that you live from The Oaks – and tell you how you can support GPAC’s Emergency Fund for Artists!

The current crisis caused by COVID-19 has impacted our region’s artists in a profound way. With the cancellation of events and gigs to reduce the spread of the virus, artists who make their income partially or fully through gigs and freelance work are losing essential income, creating the perfect storm of economic hardship.
In response to COVID-19, the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council has expanded its Emergency Fund for Artists to support those impacted by the virus. We have temporarily expanded the application guidelines to meet the challenges that our community’s artists face. Artists will be able to quickly access up to $500 to recoup financial losses due to cancelled events, offset the loss of expected income, and assist with rent, food, and other needs.
