Creatives for Climate Art Exhibition Opening Reception

Artists Niffer Desmond and Ann Rosenthal present their projects, one focused on endangered species and the other on urban nature, at the first Creatives for Climate art exhibition at The First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh.

Creatives for Climate (C4C) artists Niffer Desmond and Ann Rosenthal present projects focused on endangered species through a coloring book and urban nature through a community-based ecoliteracy and art program. Visitors are invited to make their own climate pledge and become part of this interactive display to join the rapidly growing movement of people who are creating a more sustainable narrative for the Earth.

SUNDAY FORUM: Climate Crisis and Active Hope
February 11h, 9 – 10.20 am
The First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh, Schweizer Room
Kirsi Jansa, Creatives for Climate co-founder and the filmmaker of Sustainability Pioneers and Gas Rush Stories short documentary series, will screen two Sustainability PIoneers short documentaries and lead a community conversation on how to face the climate crisis without becoming overwhelmed.
Sustainability Pioneers episode Home Sweet Home portrays how one UU family, Al and Rob Schwarz, took bold steps to reduce their carbon footprint. The episode Finding Our Power explores how the City of Pittsburgh takes a different road after president Trump reneges on the Paris Climate Treaty.

Creatives for Climate OPEN STUDIO
February 25th, 1 – 3 pm
The First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh Undercroft Gallery
All are welcome to attend this relaxed event where you can learn about a specific climate-related theme and how to represent that theme through art. The theme will be announced prior to the event date.
