A New Brain deals directly with the songwriter (Williams Finn’s) own harrowing experience with an brain malformation and the healing power of art. The hero of the musical, Gordon Schwinn, worries that he may not live to complete his work.
A New Brain is a show about making the most out of life in the face of tragedy. When a neurotic, frustrated composer is confronted with a terminal illness, he finds comfort in the healing power of art. The show is in fact the William Finn’s autobiographical account of his own battle for life when he was afflicted with a seemingly terminal illness. As the central character, Gordon Michael Schwinn struggles to survive, he finds salvation in the healing power of art.

ADMISSION INFO
Tickets are available through Showclix (1-888-718-4253) or frontporch.showclix.com. Ticket prices are $35 for adults; $40 at the door; $25 for students and artists. Season ticket prices are $60. Open seating.

LOCATION
PARKING INFO
On-street parking is available at no cost after 6pm, Monday-Saturday and all day Sunday. Paid parking is available in the Allegheny Health Network garage for evening events and weekend matinees.
To find the garage:
Drive past the theater and follow Allegheny Square East as if you were going back out onto East Commons
The Allegheny Health Network garage will be on your left
Pull in and a uniformed parking attendant will collect your fee
Parking in the garage is $7 (cash only)
NOTE: The lot will close one hour after the show
For various events, security is on site to direct you to available parking options. Parking for sporting events impact space available near the Theater. Please check your local listings to see if the Theater’s event conflicts with our local sports teams.
