How do we reintroduce our arts offerings to audiences when the arts restart? The Arts Council has assembled a panel of marketing experts who will highlight some of the key ways that arts marketing has been affected by the pandemic and provide insights on how you can adapt your marketing strategies.
Our expert panel will share their expertise on two different aspects of marketing. First, one session will cover branding, target audience investigation and exploration of marketing data. The second session will focus on social media management as a marketing tool.
There is a $35 registration fee for members of the Arts Council; non-members can attend the workshop for a fee of $50. You must register to receive the link to the Zoom meeting.
Meet the Presenters:
Beth Bershok
Beth serves as the Regional Marketing Director for the CPA firm of Herbein + Company, Inc., a 225+ person firm with 8 offices across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition to contributing to firmwide marketing efforts, she oversees marketing and practice development for the firm’s Pittsburgh, Greensburg and Allison Park offices.
During the pandemic, additional responsibilities included blog writing, webinar planning and hosting and coaching the professional team on speaking and performance techniques. Since 2017, Beth has been a member of the board of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council where she serves as Chair of the Marketing and Development Committee. As Chair of this committee, Beth was actively involved in the grant-funded Restart the Arts campaign.
Nelli Tokleh
Nelli is a forward-thinking communications professional with a successful track record in developing and leading strategy and execution for external communications programs, inclusive of executive thought leadership, media and influencer relations, community relations and events. At Red Havas in downtown Pittsburgh, she provides media relations and corporate communications support for several healthcare and pharmaceutical brands.
Prior to joining Red Havas this year, she led strategic communications, media relations, community relations and influencer programs for a variety of local and national clients. Before moving to Pittsburgh in 2019, she lived in Dallas working for boutique public relations firms. Nelli earned a Bachelor of Journalism and Public Relations from the University of North Texas, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University. Her hobbies include visiting restaurants and festivals in the Burgh and foodsta-gramming on @pittsburghfoodnerd.
Peggy Hynes
Margaret “Peggy” Hynes is a marketing professional who works with large and small companies on marketing initiatives. Peggy assists her clients to develop plans, marketing strategies including branding, marcom, CRM, market research, product launches and more. Peggy’s clients include businesses in consumer products, medical devices, marketing technology, channel marketing, as well as not for profits.
Peggy has her MBA in marketing from the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business. Peggy also is an active volunteer with local arts organizations, including serving on the Board of the Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theater and with the Arts Council’s Business Volunteers for the Arts program.
Emily Bezak
Emily Bezak is a marketing, brand, and content strategist with extensive experience in B2B content development, growth marketing, and helping startups start their own marketing. Specialties include social media management, content creation, and digital marketing. She helps her clients develop their brand’s voice and optimize their brands for digital. As a believer in working on your own terms, Emily helps fellow marketers find the successful, creative life they always dreamed of through freelancing. She created the Side Hustle Starter Kit for first-time freelancers and freelancers looking to level up and establish their small business as an authority and expert in their field.
Emily is the Founder of Emily Bezak Writes, a Pittsburgh-based marketing consultancy and winner of PRSA Pittsburgh’s 2021 PR Entrepreneur of the Year. She is also the creator of Marketers in PJs, a community for marketers and creatives to learn, share, and grow together. Emily earned her MBA in Marketing from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh in 2016 and BS in Business Management from Point Park University in 2010. She is currently serving on the Point Park University Alumni Association Board of Directors as a Board Member and Chair of the Alumni and Student Success Scholarship Committee.
