Kamratōn announces Burgh Sounds II, a concert featuring the works of Pittsburgh based composers from The University of Pittsburgh.
Kamratōn, Pittsburgh’s all-female new music ensemble presents an all Pittsburgh based composers concert featuring Mathew Rosenblum’s “Falling,” Amy Williams’s “Ligamy,” Eric Moe’s “Siren Songs,” and Roger Zahab’s “Shades of Hegemony.” Roger Zahab will conduct and composer/pianist Eric Moe will join the ensemble on piano. About Kamratōn: Kamratōn is a new music chamber ensemble based in Pittsburgh, Pa. Currently, in its third season of programming, Kamratōn exists to challenge the boundaries of music performance, expand the contemporary chamber music repertoire, and celebrate the role of women as leaders in the arts. Through collaboration with local composers, Kamratōn presents an array of unique and innovative chamber works to produce a rich and dynamic concert-going experience. The collective has commissioned and premiered works by numerous composers and continues to grow the chamber repertoire for subsets of its mixed instrumentation.
